GREAT BRAK RIVER NEWS AND VIDEO - While mopping up operations are underway at the Great Brak River fire that at one time threatened houses in Greenhaven, all efforts are now concentrated on a huge fire in the Haelkraal area.
The Working on Fire helicopter is on the scene and water bombing operations by helicopter has begun.
A second veld fire was reported in the Haelkraal area at approximately 15:46 and the Eden District Municipality was notified.
The Mossel Bay Fire and Rescue Services has a crew on scene at Haelkraal and the members have reported a large vegetation fire.
At the time of writing, the Eden District Municipality's fire crews were battling a fire in the Hessequa area and as a result could not respond to the fire in Haelkraal.
The helicopter remains on scene at Haelkraal.
