GEORGE NEWS - Phambili Shelter for Battered Women and Children, a non-profit organisation situated in Rosemoor, George, has long been supported by the George Golf Club and its personnel in their quest to provide support to abused women and children.
Now, during the Covid pandemic, the golf club once again reached out to Phambili with a donation of anti-bacterial masks in an effort to assist vulnerable victims of domestic violence to protect themselves from Covid-19 infection.
Recent figures show that 30% of the adult female population have experienced some form of domestic abuse since they were 16 years old, but just a fraction of these incidents gets reported and even fewer lead to prosecutions.
Contact Phambili Shelter if you know of anyone in need of help. As a non-profit organisation, Phambili Women's Shelter also welcomes all donations.
