GEORGE NEWS - The leadership of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), including its leader Julius Malema and the top six, will be at the Thembalethu Stadium in George on Friday 6 April. EFF Southern Cape regional coordinator Diswayne Maarman told George Herald that George is just as segregated as in PW Botha's day.
"This day, 6 April, also marks the 366th year of the start of the dispossession of our land by the white settlers. We are expecting the Thembalethu Stadium to be filled to capacity from 14:00," said Maarman.
Malema is expected to address the expropriation of land without compensation as well as the Spatial Development Framework for George.
"We must deal with the fact that 23 years into our democracy, George is still not integrated.
"The old apartheid ideology of keeping sought-after beachfront properties in the Wilderness, home of PW Botha, for whites, is still alive and well in George and in fact in the entire Garden Route. This is non-negotiable," said Maarman.
