Young, vibrant and fresh out of school, 19-year-old Alicia has always had big dreams of becoming a positive role model in the lives of young women. She recently grabbed the opportunity to make her dreams a reality and entered the renowned Apprentesses (sic) of Angelique Gerber competition in Johannesburg. Alicia matriculated from Outeniqua High School last year and is currently studying at ETA College to become a fitness professional and personal trainer, while competing against more than 50 finalists to become a brand ambassador for Angelique Gerber.
As a former ACE model and as the face of the Garden Route Mall in 2010, Alicia believes that becoming an apprentice of Angelique Gerber is not just about having a pretty face; it is an intense challenge and an opportunity to become your own brand.
"I want to make a difference in my local community by using the platform to become a positive role model in the lives of young women. I want to help give them a chance to grow into independent, self-sustaining adults who have something positive to contribute to society."
Each finalist is expected to compete in challenges varying from charity involvement, fundraising, marketing herself and Apprentesses of Angelique Gerber and sponsors and needs to be active on social media - finalists receive marks for each category. "The competition is really very intense, but I am extremely grateful for the opportunity. Through the various challenges I am growing incredibly."
The community's votes are needed
Finalists are expected to gain as many votes as possible through SMSes and through their fan page - a platform to promote themselves, their sponsors and to interact with their fans.
To vote for Alicia, SMS AP Alicia Cronje to 35069 or 'like' her fan page on Facebook by searching for Apprentesses, Alicia Cronje.
