GEORGE NEWS - Claudel Draai won the Best Frontline Service Delivery Employee award at the Western Cape Government Service Excellence Awards (SEA) held in Cape Town on 12 May.
The SEA seek to recognise excellence and performance beyond the call of duty of public servants.
Draai, who is an employee of Western Cape Government Health and Wellness at the George district office, has been a public servant for 36 years and wears many hats within the department, the main one being health promoter co-ordinator.
Claudel has been working with communities for many years. This has given her the advantage of being proactive when she encounters services that need extra attention. She has been part of many programmes and service implementations.
"She has a wealth of knowledge in health promotion and prevention which she uses to implement new programmes successfully. We treasure Claudel within our unit," said her supervisor, Edith Swanevelder.
