GEORGE NEWS - Kuyasa Clinic celebrated its 10th anniversary with a vibrant event attended by community members, stakeholders, and staff last Friday 12 July.
Facility manager Mncedisi Kali expressed gratitude to the community, staff and management for their support, highlighting the clinic's impact since its opening in 2014. Before Kuyasa, patients had to travel across the N2, facing risks like walking in the dark.
'Kuyasa', meaning 'new dawn' in isiXhosa, symbolises the unique partnership that brought it to life, involving the Isisombululo Programme, Hasso Plattner Foundation, University of Cape Town, and Western Cape Government Health and Wellness.
The programme was jam-packed with local talent, representatives from both the Plattner Foundation (Tina Plattner) and the Isisombululo Project (Brett Utian).
The programme was concluded with the cutting of an enormous cake and words of gratitude from management.
Kuyasa Clinic provides primary health care services, Monday to Friday, 07:30-16:00. Contact: 044 814 1170/71.
