GARDEN ROUTE NEWS - The Garden Route SPCA's (GRSPCA) Dog of the Year photo competition is done and dusted.
Voting opened on 24 August and the winners were announced on International Dog Day, 26 August. Prizes were handed over at the GRSPCA's offices in George on Tuesday 6 September.
Competition was tight as about 85 photos were entered, but in the end Kasper the bull terrier, owned by Kristy Kolberg, not only won first place with more than 600 votes, but a second photo that was entered also secured him the third place.
Rusla the pitt bull terrier, owned and loved by Stephanie Visser, won second place with 350 votes.
"Thank you to each and every one who entered and those who took the time to vote. Also a big thank-you to Hill's Pet Nutrition for sponsoring the prizes for the competition," said the GRSPCA's Rika Bouwer.
