GEORGE NEWS - As a precautionary measure, Island Lake will remain closed for all recreational activities due to potential harmful components that could be produced by the blue-green algal bloom currently experienced.
Ongoing monitoring will be done to evaluate the ratio of the potentially harmful indicators.
The public will be kept informed and notified of any change in the condition of the water body.
