GEORGE NEWS - Layla's life took a heartbreaking turn when her owner brought her to the PDSA in a wheelbarrow and abandoned her.
The young husky cross, believed to be about a year old, was left behind while in need of medical care.
Borcherds Paws stepped in and covered the costs of her surgery as well as her stay at the PDSA, ensuring that Layla received the treatment she needed.
Despite her ordeal, Layla is described as a happy and affectionate dog with plenty of energy. Those caring for her say she is full of life and enjoys bursts of playful zoomies whenever she gets the chance.
While she is expected to make a full recovery, Layla still requires a follow-up visit to the vet. What she needs most now, however, is a home.
Those involved in her care say it is not fair for a young, energetic dog to remain in a veterinary environment when she should be in a loving home with a soft bed and people of her own.
Layla urgently needs a home or committed foster, where she can receive the care, stability and affection she deserves.
