GEORGE NEWS - EFF members and leaders are picketing this afternoon, 31 March, in front of the Old Town Hall on York Street. Their main concerns include service delivery issues, the high cost of electricity, and the high unemployment rate in George.
The group will be handing over a memorandum to Acting Director of Community Safety and Mobility, Lee-Anne Meiring, who has arrived on the scene on behalf of the George Municipality.
Member of Parliament Virgill Gericke is part of the group and said he is pleased to be visiting his hometown. Gericke added that the EFF wants answers regarding the Victoria Street building disaster, which occurred almost a year ago and deeply impacted the town.
