GEORGE NEWS - A blood donation drive is underway at the premises of the Western Cape Blood Service (WCBS) in George at Medical Centre, Courtenay Street (opposite the Dutch Reformed Mother Church).
People can donate blood till 15:00 this afternoon. O-type blood stocks are critically low.
In an effort to draw the public's attention to this predicament, staff of the WCBS are standing next to the road in Courtenay Street with placards calling on donors to donate.
Arlecia November, spokesperson for the transfusion service, said they have two days' supply left and they urgently need donors to come out and donate.
