GEORGE NEWS - Guests at BVSA's Dinner in the Dark fundraiser on Friday 23 October enjoyed an unusual experience at the Protea Hotel King George, where they tucked into their starters without being able to see who was sitting across the table.

Only when the lights came on for the main course did the guests discover who they had been chatting to!
The evening, which raised R50 000 for youth leadership development, brought together local businesses, young performers and community members in support of Carpe Diem School and Heroldsbaai Stranddienste, which will share the proceeds.
Creativity was a central theme, with artwork by York High School learners displayed throughout the venue. Young people also played an important role in the evening's proceedings, providing entertainment, making announcements, showing guests to their seats and assisting with table service.

The guests enjoyed a delicious meal and a varied entertainment programme, and the young participants made the most of their opportunity to shine.
Speaking on behalf of BVSA, Christiaan Human said: "We want to thank every partner who joined hands with us to invest in young people and help create a world where there is hope."
He also emphasised the importance of nurturing creativity alongside leadership development. "The world needs creativity. Arts and culture are the soul of the world, and it is our responsibility to keep that creativity and the soul of the world intact to grow leadership."
BVSA thanked Palm Tyre, Rauch Gertenbach Attorneys, Protea Hotel King George, Group Editors, JCJ Construction, Savannah Helicopters and Melissa Page School of Dance for their support.
