GEORGE NEWS - A 61-year-old grandfather from Denneoord will be back in court on 13 August after he was arrested for allegedly raping his granddaughter (3).
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson, Sgt Chris Spies, the toddler informed her mother of the incident after she returned from a visit to her grandparents' house last month.
"The George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit (FCS) is investigating a case of rape following an incident on Saturday 23 May. The initial investigation reveals that the victim visited her grandparents when the incident occurred," said Spies.
The suspect appeared in the George Magistrate's Court on 10 June where he was released on bail. The case was postponed for further investigation.
