GEORGE NEWS - The George Police Station in Courtney Street will remain closed for the rest of the day after a member tested positive for Covid-19.
Captain Malcolm Pojie, the Southern Cape police spokesperson said, the member is currently in self isolation and protocol to trace all those that might have been in direct contact with the member, has begun.
“The George Police management regrets to inform the community that all services provided by the station will relocate to the Firearm Office that is situated at the back of the police station which is accessible from Morris Street.
"The Covid-19 protocol was activated due to one of the members at the station tested positive for Covid-19. The decontamination of the station premises has already been done.
"The station will remain closed for the remainder of the day and evening. The main entrance to the Community Service Centre will be reopening at 06:00 tomorrow, Saturday 6 June.
Pojie said, normal services will not be hampered at all. “Services will be maintained as per usual. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
