GEORGE NEWS - Elmien Lyth, newly appointed General Manager of Oubaai Hotel Golf & Spa in Herold's Bay, is elated about the smooth hand-over which took place when she took charge in November last year after the Hyatt Regency management contract ended.
Kharafi Hospitality (Pty) Ltd, who owns 20 hotels world-wide including Oubaai Hotel Golf & Spa, decided to manage the hotel under their hotel management umbrella. They appointed Elmien, previously Hotel Manager at the Sheraton Hotel in Pretoria, as General Manager and was involved with the transition and branding of the hotel, which will be known in future as the Oubaai Hotel Golf & Spa.
During an exclusive interview with the George Herald, Elmien confirmed that it is business as usual. The entire staff kept their positions - with the exception of a few employees who took up posts with Hyatt in other parts of the world. The hotel remained open throughout the transition and everything went smoothly.
"I fell in love with the hotel and the beautiful environment," said Elmien who is getting to know the Garden Route for the first time.
