FOOTBALL NEWS - Burning Fire (Umlilo) orchestrated a well-deserved victory, humiliating Young Killers FC with a whopping score of 6-0 in a Geolfa League encounter on Sunday 19 May at Thembalethu Stadium.
Cristiano Williams, Thembisile Butse (brace), Siyasanga Bokodayo and Yamkela September contributed the six goals for Umlilo.
Zizipho Mtyukwini, the Burning Fire skipper, did a superb job at the back marshalling and leading the defence.
The game started at a high tempo with Burning Fire launching an attack on the right side of the field employing the pace of Cristiano Williams. Williams scored the first goal with a great strike.
With Young Killers pressing for the equaliser, Burning Fire still created the most chances into the box. Akhona Luke netted the second goal to make it 2-0 after his team mates' excellent work from the right side of the field.
Burning Fire left wing-back Sibusiso Ntuli used his speed to break through but his shot was denied by a Young Killers defender, forcing a corner kick. Thembisile Butse netted the third goal just before the half time break, making it 3-0.
The second half saw Burning Fire playing offensive football. Thembisile Butse netted his second goal and Siyasanga Bokodayo scored from a delightful pass after a free kick, upping their score to 5-0.
Burning Fire goalkeeper Lukhanyo Futha made a foul inside the box allowing a penalty for Young Killers, but Futha made a brilliant save, denying Young Killers their first goal. Burning Fire's Yamkela September delivered the final scorcher, upping their victory to a score of 6-0 with a strike just outside the box.
