GEORGE NEWS - Thembalethu police are searching for two unknown suspects after the driver and passenger of a bread delivery truck were robbed and the vehicle stolen on Monday morning, 25 October.
According to Thembalethu police communications officer, Capt Dumile Gwavu, the complainant and his passenger arrived at a shop in Ntaka Street, Zone 1, to deliver bread when they were accosted by the suspects. One of the suspects was carrying a firearm.
"The passenger was assaulted with the firearm and searched. He was robbed of his wallet, Samsung J4 cellphone and R4 000. The driver was robbed of an undisclosed amount of money and a black cellphone, before the suspects made off with the Sasko delivery truck," said Gwavu.
The vehicle, a white Kia with registration number CAW 35168, is fitted with a canopy. The suspects left the scene in the truck and left the victims locked inside the shop. A case of aggravated robbery with firearm and theft of a motor vehicle has been opened.
