GEORGE NEWS - The N2 between Wilderness and George (Kaaimans Pass) was closed for traffic for some time after an attempted armed robbery of a Fidelity Security Services took place late yesterday afternoon, Monday 18 July.
According to unconfirmed information received from an eyewitness, the Fidelity vehicle was accosted by a group of armed suspects who opened fire and managed to puncture some of the Fidelity vehicle’s tyres.
Despite the punctured tyres, the Fidelity vehicle managed to escape from the scene and the suspects also fled.
No injuries were reported.

Rumours that this incident could be linked to a separate incident at the bridge near the Garden Route Mall could not yet be confirmed.
