GEORGE NEWS - The situation in Thembalethu, more specificially in Zone 8, remains tense as protesters are still pelting the police with stones.
Zolani Sinxo reports that rubber bullets and stones are flying both ways in the Zone 8 informal settlement following an unsatisfactory response from the George Municipality regarding their service delivery protest on Monday 19 March.

The march included people from Mandela Village, Ramaphosa, France, and Kapa.
They delivered a memorandum to the George Municipality that set out a number of grievances which included their lack of proper housing, sanitation and water.
In the early hours of this morning, at about 03:00, some residents tried to block the entrance to Thembalethu, but they were stopped by the police who have been trying to destabilise the situation.
Stones are still flying and the police are using rubber bullets and tear gas to push the protesters back.
The situation remains tense as protesters are still pelting the police with stones.
