GEORGE NEWS - For the first time ever, a sports day for all Thembalethu primary schools was held on Saturday 3 August.
The Thembalethu Stadium was the venue where learners competed in soccer, rugby, cricket and netball, and enjoyed a number of festivities.
Organisers say the event seeks to unite Thembalethu schools and promote the culture of brotherhood in the fight against substance abuse and crime in the area. They intend for it to become an annual event.

"A special thanks to Joe Afrika (Truns) of Solatins, Nelson Mandela University, Charl Watson North B&B, Thembalethu Primary School, Tyholorha Primary School, Mzoxolo Primary School and all the learners who participated," he said.
The event was a big success.
