Update
GEORGE NEWS - In just three hours last Wednesday morning, a wet and slippery Outeniqua Pass took its toll on three motorists.
The first accident on 7 March happened when a Toyota Yaris collided with a Mercedes-Benz.
Preliminary information indicated that the driver of one of the vehicles lost control around a bend and hit the vehicle in the oncoming lane. Three people were treated for minor injuries on the scene and another was taken to hospital by ER24.
Shortly after the first accident, a woman was injured when she also allegedly lost control of her Citi Golf on a bend and crashed into the mountain. She complained of severe neck and back pain and was taken to Mediclinic George.
Less than two hours after the second accident, the driver of a silver Toyota Condor found himself on his side in his seat in his overturned vehicle.
Yet again, the winding, wet road was the cause of the accident.

Motorists are warned to take extreme caution on the Outeniqua Pass. Especially when it is wet.
