GEORGE NEWS - The George police opened a murder docket after the body of a 33-year-old man was found at the bridge over the N2 highway near the Garden Route Mall this morning, Saturday 30 April, at about 09:00.
Southern Cape police spokesperson Sergeant Christopher Spies said preliminary investigation revealed that two men were sitting on the bridge when they were accosted by a group of people.
"The deceased sustained stab wounds to the head and back. He was later declared dead by paramedics on the scene. The second victim sustained serious stab wounds to one arm. He was taken to hospital for further medical care."
Spies said investigation into the killing is at an early stage. No suspects have been arrested yet.
