GEORGE NEWS - A 27-year-old man, Dominic Derrick Muller, was sentenced on a charge of dealing in drugs in the George Magistrate's Court on Monday 4 December.
He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment which is wholly suspended for a period of five years.
Additionally he has to pay R12 000 into the Criminal Assets Recovery Account (Cara) in instalments of R2 000 per month.
Spokesperson for the Hawks WO Zinzi Hani says his arrest emanated from operations that were conducted between 21 April 2021 and 28 September 2021 where two and half grams of cocaine valued at R1 900 were bought separately.
The suspect was arrested by the Serious Organised Crime Investigation team based in George. He was released on bail of R2 000 until he was sentenced.
