GEORGE NEWS - Detectives of the George Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit arrested a 21-year-old man on Sunday 10 July in connection with the sexual assault of a young boy (5) from the Conville area.
According to Southern Cape police spokesperson Capt Malcolm Pojie, the child complained to a family member about pain and discomfort in his private parts and said that the suspect touched him recently.
The incident was reported to the police and the suspect was arrested.
He appeared in the George Magistrate's Court on a charge of sexual assault.
The outcome of the court appearance could not be confirmed by the time of going to print.
