Mirie Linton is one of the five top bodies in the world.
GEORGE NEWS - Mirie Linton, a fitness athlete and mother from Great Brak, was placed fifth in the World Bodybuilding Fitness Federation (WBFF) World Championships held in Las Vegas in the US recently.
Linton started her bodybuilding career last year and this is only her fourth competition. "It is a dream come true.
"Competing on an international stage with my idols felt almost unreal and I am on cloud nine.
"I believe my coach and mentor and South Africa's most successful female bodybuilder, Louise van der Nat, from Johannesburg, is my winning formula. Louise is a WBFF PRO figure world champion who has over 20 years of competitive bodybuilding experience. She expects a certain standard from her athletes.
You have to shape up or move on," says Linton, whose supplements and fitness apparel are sponsored by CAW Core & Wellness Nutrition.
"Egmar Schutte, the owner, has been a wonderful support to me. My future goals include moving to the US with my husband and children early next year and continuing fitness modelling, bodybuilding and 38 burpees in 1 minute."
