GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - Women from Groenkloof Retirement Village enjoyed an entertaining and inspirational morning at the Groenkloof Restaurant on Saturday 20 August.
The event was organised by Erica Gruber, co-owner of the restaurant, in celebration of Women's Month.
Jenny Millard, a Georgian since 1997, spoke on how, at the age of 50, she took on a new challenge. This came about after a disastrous facial procedure had burned her skin, leaving it damaged and extremely sensitive.
Not being able to find a suitable product, she developed a completely natural product that her skin was able to tolerate and that would help it heal.
This one product has now expanded into an organic skincare and make-up range that she manufactures herself.
Laughter therapist Elize Jacobs got everyone laughing with a laughter therapy demonstration.
After going through a challenging time in her life, she became interested in the therapy and went for training in India, where it originated. She said laughter helps relieve stress, lowers blood pressure, enhances oxygen intake and increases endorphins released by the brain.
