The competition will run over six months, and each month photographers are invited to submit their digital photographs of the following categories, by e-mail, to george200photo@gmail.com.
The themes are:
March: ‘Then and now’. Choose any of the ‘Then’ photos (see below) of old buildings in George and submit creative ‘Now’ entries of what these buildings look today.
April: ‘A month in the life of George’. These photos have to be taken during this month as it is George’s birthday month, and can depict any subject that catches a typical day in the life of George.
May: ‘Sports of George’. Any creative shots of sports played in George can be submitted so dig up your photos of the Rugby 7s, the OCC, or the World Cup Soccer ... any sport goes.
June: ‘Landscapes of George’. Spoilt for choice, take photographs of any landscapes within the George municipal boundaries.
July: ‘People of George’.
Diverse in history and culture, the people of George must be the city’s greatest asset. Capture this and show the soul of our community!
Category winners will be announced at the end of each following month and overall winners at the end of October.
