GARDEN ROUTE NEWS AND VIDEO - The Garden Route District Municipality firefighters, based in George, made their mark again at the Toughest Firefighter Alive (TFA) Competition in Cape Town on 20 and 21 September.
Once again they won the highest ranking spot at the TFA. It was firefighter Emile Conrad's fifth consecutive win.
The firefighters also managed to pocket a bronze in the relays even though one of the firefighters had to be replaced due to an unforeseen injury.
In the awards for 35 to 39 year olds, Emile Conrad won first place while Deon Stoffels secured the second spot.
There was also a random lucky draw winner announced at the competition, in which a firefighter received top-of-the-range dual purpose firefighting boots from Chanaud.
The Garden Route's Deon Stoffels won this.
