GEORGE NEWS - The following update was received from George Municipality.
ROAD CLOSURES
Motorists are asked to please avoid the following roads:
Figland Street in Borcherds; and the Saasveld Road/Madiba Drive, which is closed.
ELECTRICITY
There are some power outages across the city. Electricians attend to issues as they occur.
We appeal for your patience as safety issues may impact our electricians’ ability to deal with certain matters.
WATER SUPPLY
A pipe-burst near the N2, probably because of flooding, is affecting the eastern suburbs, George South and the CBD and will later affect Thembalethu, Rosedale and part of Pacaltsdorp.
Reservoirs remain critically low due to the weekend’s raw water supply pipe burst.
We appeal to all residents to keep using water for essentials only.
Details of the eastern supply issues are available in a separate entry.
