GEORGE NEWS - Five people were injured in two different road accidents within the last 24-hours. The accidents happened on the Airport Road and the N2 respectively.
George police opened a reckless and negligent docket following an accident on the Airport Road near the N2, on Saturday 16 October at about 21:30.
Sergeant Christopher Spies said no arrests were made and circumstances surrounding the accident is under investigation: “It is alleged that a Toyota Corolla was travelling on the road when it overturned. Reports from the scene indicates that four occupants sustained injuries and received medical treatment on scene.”
Second incident
Police were dispatched to an accident on the N2 highway today, Sunday 17 October, at about 12:45.
Information available indicates that a Ford bakkie used for courier services, and an Audi with a Knysna registration, collided.
“One female occupant of the motor vehicle (Audi) sustained injuries. The extent of her injuries is not immediately available. The cause of the accident is yet to be determined,” said Spies.
