GEORGE NEWS - Groenkloof Retirement Village held its annual Christmas dinner on Wednesday evening, 8 December. About 64 residents attended the dinner in aid of the Garden Route SPCA (GRSPCA) and the fight against cancer.
According to Andelean Silkstone, the GRSPCA's secretary, it was decided that instead of exchanging gifts, donations would be made towards the GRSPCA or the fight against cancer.
"Some people gave envelopes marked for SPCA and others gave for cancer.
The GRSPCA committee, staff, and animals wish to thank the residents of Groenkloof Retirement Village for this amazing initiative and wish them a blessed, healthy and safe festive season," she said.
"Many of us are blessed to still have our fur babies, but unfortunately, some of them cannot anymore," said Cheryll van Zyl, a resident at Groenkloof. "But we do know that those who do not have that blessing, certainly love all fur babies."
