GEORGE NEWS - NMU is celebrating their first year as the Nelson Mandela University along side the 100th birthday of Nelson Mandela. This gave a student society the chance to work on a project for this day.
It took about 15 students 16 hours to complete two of these Mandela art works. They used about 7 big balls of yarn and loads of nails to trace his face.
It was first done on A4 scale and presented to the university as a model of what was to come.
Acting principal David Alexander said this is quite unique and they are happy to receive these beautiful works of art. He said they are proud of what these students accomplished.
