ELECTION NEWS AND VIDEO - As work in the provincial electoral commission results centre drew to a close, political adversaries and opponents united at the request of provincial electoral officer Courtney Sampson to sing the national anthem.
As Sampson in a light-hearted moment announced that Alan Winde may forthwith be called the Premier of the Western Cape, political leaders flocked to congratulate him and his colleagues with their election victory.
Work at the results centre drew to a close with lots of laughter and jokes among party representatives, IEC staff and the media.
Final election results will be made by the national electoral commission in Pretoria on Saturday.
