MOTORING NEWS - In 2016, Peugeot unveiled the new 3008 and it went on sale the next year.
Since then, the 3008 has bulldozed its way through opposition in the SUV sector, with over 20 awards to date.
The vehicle presents a new milestone for Peugeot and the first award followed swiftly.
In November 2016 the new 3008 was awarded overall CarBuyer Car of the Year 2017, as well as winning best in the SUV category.
Diesel Car Magazine awarded the 3008 the overall Car of the Year award for 2017, as well as giving it the honour of Best Medium SUV.
In March, the new 3008 won European Car Of The Year 2017. This was voted by a jury of 58 motoring journalists from 22 European countries.
The judging panel commented on its style, interior design and performance.
This prestigious trophy joins the twenty other awards the all-new Peugeot 3008 SUV has already won. The vehicle is the fifth Peugeot to win Car of the Year and the first SUV honoured in the history of the Car of the Year prize.
The Peugeot 3008 SUV was also named Family Car of the Year by Drive 360 at a ceremony in Johannesburg in December.
The SUV is also a finalist in the WesBank SA Guild of Motoring Journalists competition to be crowned Car of the Year 2018.
The winner will be announced at a banquet in Gauteng in March.
