BUSINESS NEWS - Safety Solutions Africa, in collaboration with the George Business Chamber, hosted a highly informative legal liability workshop on Thursday 12 June, aimed at educating businessowners about their legal responsibilities in occupational health and safety.
The event took place at The Apprentice in George and was attended by representatives from 17 local businesses across diverse industries.
The workshop provided valuable insights into the legal implications of workplace incidents, compliance requirements and proactive risk management.
It was also designed to equip employers with practical knowledge to not only protect their workforce, but also mitigate legal and financial risk.
The event featured expert presentations by:
• Roosinc Attorneys, represented by commercial attorney Rainier Bruyns, who shared critical legal perspectives on employer liability.
• Mooirivier Makelaars, who addressed insurance aspects related to workplace incidents.
• Ina le Roux Consulting, offering insights into best practices for internal processes and health and safety systems.
• The Department of Labour, who provided updates on current compliance requirements, inspections and enforcement procedures.
Attendees engaged in lively discussions, shared industry-specific concerns, and left the workshop better prepared to handle their responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
