GEORGE NEWS - According to the George municipality with ongoing severe water demand management measures,has the municipality has temporarily disconnected public showers at municipal beaches and public swimming pools with immediate effect.
Flow restrictors have been in place at beach facilities for some time to reduce water usage.
However, the current pressure on the municipal drinking water supply requires further intervention to safeguard available resources.
Residents and visitors are urged to use water sparingly and responsibly. Members of the public are also encouraged to switch off or report any leaking taps or unattended running showers at homes, gyms or public facilities.
The municipality thanks residents, businesses and visitors for their continued cooperation and commitment to water conservation during this challenging period.
