MTB Challenge of the 2018 Cape Town Cycle Tour
Sam Gaze (Specialized) out-sprinted defending champion Howard Grotts (Specialized) and Mathieu van der Poel (Corendon–Circus) to win the Cape Town Cycle Tour MTB Challenge at Uitspan Farm in a time of 02:11:50, from a stacked field. A group of 10 riders, including Florian Vogel, Pyga-Euro Steel’s Matthys Beukes, Phil Buys as well as Gert Heyns from Team DSV, formed soon after the start and pushed the pace early on.
