'n Jong fietsryer se lewe het byna onherroeplik verander toe sy pa, wat ook sy afrigter is, tydens 'n oefensessie op 2 September deur 'n voertuig getref is. Cuan Wildeman (13) het op daardie stadium saam met die res van die fietsrygroep gery, terwyl sy pa, Phillip Wildeman, 'n kortpad geneem het.
