GEORGE NEWS - The highly popular Elevate Trampoline Park has introduced yet another exhilarating activity to its entertainment menu for Georgians - go kart racing.
This new attraction is named "RACE BASE" and the additional investment comes less than a year after the park opened its doors for business in January 2017.
Opting to acquire professional rental karts, the owners have ensured that the thrill of racing can be enjoyed by experienced drivers and beginners alike.
"We have had mother and daughter groups who come just for the fun, but also drivers that are serious about racing and come to test their skills on a returning basis," says Louis van Tonder, owner of Elevate Park.
Racing is on an indoor 125-metre track and customers have a choice between a five or ten minute race. This may seem short, but steering around the challenging track with its sharp bends is a high intensity activity.
Beginners are advised to start with a five-minute race and build up their strength before attempting more. At full throttle a participant can complete 18 laps in five minutes and 35 laps in 10 minutes.
For braver drivers, the Le Mans endurance sessions of either 30, 60 or 90 minutes should be a tempting challenge. People can participate in groups of up to 10 and make up teams that rotate drivers.
RACE BASE uses state of the art sophisticated software that provides detailed race statistics of every race. The precision timing system, called Race Director, is accurate up to 1000 milliseconds. It furthermore enables spectators to view a live leader board displaying the position of each driver during a race.

After a race, a complete race report with lap times for each driver is printed out. A top-15 leader board has also been started, displaying the names of the fastest drivers in George!
Go kart races can be booked in combination with trampoline jumping sessions and are ideal for team building events. It also gives parents who do not wish to jump, an activity to enjoy while their children are occupied on the trampolines.
The minimum age for go karting participants is 12 and minimum height 1,5 metres.
Hygiene and safety are non-negotiable. New, high-quality helmets with neck braces and hair nets are provided. A strict no-bump policy is applicable to ensure safety for all participants.
RACE BASE is an alcohol-free venue (alcohol-free beer is served to over 18s).
There is a fully stocked kiosk with cold drinks, snacks, coffee and more.
Elevate Trampoline Park is a multi-activity centre for young and old and ideal for family outings, small groups, birthdays or corporate companies who want to do team building.
