GEORGE NEWS - On Sunday 20 November at 15:30 the George Music Society is presenting a special treat to their members as well as to the public at the Dutch Reformed Mother Church.
Dr Erik Dippenaar from Cape Town will perform beautiful music composed by, among others, JS Bach, Dietrich Buxtehude, Nicolaus Bruhns, Michel Corrette and Juan Cabanilles. He will also do an improvisation on a theme suggested by the audience.
Dippenaar is currently artistic director of the Cape Town Baroque Orchestra, artistic director of the annual Cape Town Baroque Festival, and a part-time lecturer in Western music history and historical performance practice at the University of Cape Town.
Entry to this unique concert is free but donations will be welcomed.
This is a concert that no organ enthusiast or Baroque music lover should miss.
