A wonderland of fashion at Wilderness Arts Fest

GEORGE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS - Local designers had the opportunity to share their creativity with fashion lovers and art enthusiasts alike at the Alles in Wonderland Fashion Show at the Wilderness Hotel on Saturday 11 October.

It was a feast for the eyes - a dazzling evening where imagination met elegance. Set around the hotel's swimming pool, guests filled their seats long before the show began.

The reflections of light on the water added a touch of magic, while Alice in Wonderland decor transformed the venue into a true fairytale setting.

Kelly Shannon and Greg van den Berg, who have successfully led the event since 2020, once again did a sterling job as hosts.

Models from Wilderness, George and surrounding areas showcased an array of styles, from evening wear and haute couture to vibrant beach fashion.

Nine designers were featured: Freedom Feathers, Andreio Designs, Jacques De Fashion, Emmanuel Designs, Studio Sea Love, Beauty 4 Ashes, Dina's Designs, Beach Threads Wilderness Originals and Eva Andrié.

At just 15 years old, Eva Andrié, a Grade Nine learner of York High, was the youngest designer on the runway and left a lasting impression with her creations. Her work will be featured at the George Arts Museum Expo on the weekend of 24 October.

In her artist statement, Eva wrote: "I've always loved to express myself - through art, writing, music, or fashion. I believe individuality should be celebrated, and clothing is a wonderful way to do that. My vision is to create unique pieces that feel like wearable art - an extension of one's personality rather than just something to wear."

Closing the evening on a high note, designer Andreio Fick made a surprise announcement, revealing the three models who will represent his brand in 2026.

They are Kaylin Wilke (16), Marcule Grobler (18) and Karma Pienaar (16). Each was crowned at the event, bringing the magical night to a close.
