GEORGE NEWS - A crisp, beautiful winter’s morning welcomed athletes to the Garden Route for the highly anticipated Eden Duathlon Championships on Saturday 30 May.
Hosted at Hoekwil Primary School, the event formed the final league fixture of the 2026 regional calendar and drew strong competition across all categories as the athletes battled it out on a course that will also host the prestigious South African Duathlon Championships on 11 July.
The route gave the competitors a valuable opportunity to test themselves on the demanding climbs, technical transitions and scenic stretches under race conditions.
Organised by Eden Triathlon, in partnership with Chain Gang Events, the event ran smoothly from start to finish.
Eden Triathlon will announce the provincial team to represent Eden in the coming days.
The local organising committee extended its gratitude to the Hoekwil community, the volunteers and the traffic officials for ensuring a safe and vibrant race environment.
