GEORGE NEWS - Jonga High School was alive with excitement as they welcomed Fezekile High School from Oudtshoorn for a memorable day of sport on Saturday 4 May.
With three sporting codes lined up for their Sports Carnival day, Jonga aimed to raise funds and promote community engagement. Plans are underway to host similar events in the future, extending invitations to more schools.
On the netball court, three fiercely contested matches took place. Fezekile edged past Jonga in the u.14 category with a narrow 6 - 5 victory.
However, Jonga asserted their dominance in the u.15 category, securing a convincing 17 - 6 win.
Their supremacy continued in the u.17 category, where Jonga emerged as the winners with a commanding 29 - 7 victory.
Meanwhile, on the rugby field, Jonga showcased their resilience in an entertaining match, clawing back from behind to secure an impressive 17 - 17 draw against Fezekile.
Both teams demonstrated skill and determination, creating numerous scoring opportunities throughout the game.
However, on the soccer field there was disappointment as Fezekile failed to field their soccer team.
