KNYSNA NEWS - Motorists are advised to plan ahead as a series of temporary road closures and traffic disruptions will be implemented from late April into early May for the upcoming Simola Hill Climb in Knysna.
The Simola Hill route, stretching from Eastford Circle to the Simola Hotel, will be closed daily to through-traffic from 06:00 to 19:00 between 1 and 3 May to accommodate the event.
During these hours, access to the Simola Hotel, Gouna and Concordia will be rerouted via the Simola Golf and Country Estate.
In addition, intermittent short road closures controlled by a stop-and-go system may be implemented along Simola Hill from Wednesday, 8 April to Friday, 8 May .
These temporary measures are expected to cause minor delays, particularly during peak travel times as event preparations and related activities take place.
Further disruptions are expected in the town centre. Hedge Street will be closed to through-traffic between Trotter Street and Waterfront Drive over two days.
On Thursday, 30 April, the closure will be in effect from 07:00 to 16:00, while on Friday 1 May, the road will remain closed from 07:00 to 18:00.
Waterfront Drive will also be affected over the same period. The section between Hedge Street and the N2 will be closed on Thursday, 30 April from 14:00 to 16:00, and again on Friday 1 May from 16:30 to 18:30.
