GEORGE NEWS - Rising Stars Netball Club claimed the Youth Day Tournament after defeating the Black Squad netball team 38-24 on Sunday afternoon, 16 June at the Imizamo Yethu High School sports complex.
The five teams that participated in this year's Youth Day netball tournament were Black Squad, Sunrise, Peace Lovers, Moonlight and Rising Stars.
Rising Stars players Sisipho James, Esethu Mgengo and Similise Solani starred on the court, displaying great skill.
The chairperson of George Social Netball, Levinia Wildeman, thanked everyone who participated and said that this tournament helped them to prepare and shape their netball players for the league games.
She said they are hoping to stage more huge tournaments in George and encouraged more young stars to take part in sport activities.
