SOCCER NEWS - The reining Geolfa League champions, Fast Eleven FC, played to a draw against the newcomers to the regional league, La Liga from Knysna, in a fixture at the Lawaaikamp Stadium last Saturday.
Both teams are currently sitting at the bottom half of the Safa Eden HollywoodBets Regional League log table.
The home side, Fast Eleven, kicked off and drove the ball down the left side of the field, but it was La Liga players Andy Tembo and Wongalakhe Kolisi who made the first attempts to score.
Both shots were denied by Fast Eleven goalkeeper Mihlali Siko. Ayabulela Luwonga netted a penalty for La Liga and at half time the score remained on 1-0.
In the second half there was another failed attempt from Elihle Mpithi of La Liga before Fast Eleven caught up with a goal from Anele Ntloko.
This 16-year-old Grade 11 learner from Imizamo Yethu High School has matured in his game since joining Fast Eleven and gave a stellar performance during their two games at the weekend.
