GEORGE NEWS & VIDEO - Kick-backs of R600 000 to George Mayor Melvin Naik and a senior official of the George Municipality are among the horrors detailed in the report ordered by the Minister of Local Government, Anton Bredell.
In a press briefing this morning, DA Constituency Head of George, Geordin Hill-Lewis, said the party's decision to suspend Naik and press criminal charges is the right thing to do.
He addressed the media in front of the George police station at 10:00 this morning, shortly before he laid criminal charges against George Mayor Melvin Naik and several officials of the municipality.
Hill-Lewis said at this stage, he considers the report to be public knowledge.
ANC, Icosa, FF Plus and other DA councillors also joined the briefing.
