The time has finally arrived for the next generation Astra, the eleventh generation of the Opel compact car ancestry, dating back eight decades to the first Kadett.
The new Astra was created afresh from a clean sheet of paper and according to Opel, it is even more efficient in all respects.
Scheduled to be revealed at the Frankfurt International Motor Show by Opel CEO, Dr Karl-Thomas Neumann, the new Astra will be powered by Opel’s latest state-of-the-art series of engines.
“The new Astra will feature striking design, high efficiency and an abundance of innovations,” Neumann promised.
Opel’s key model in its portfolio line-up will feature more compact exterior dimensions, while occupants will enjoy a roomier interior compared to the previous model Astra.
According to Opel, the South African launch date has not yet been determined, while further information about the new Astra will be revealed at a later stage.
