Springboks vs Argentina
The Springboks beat Argentina convincingly on Saturday with the score of 67 points to 30 after the final whistle. The Springboks and Argentina have already departed to England to get ready for their final match of the Rugby Championship which will be played at Twickenham Stadium this Saturday. The match will kick off a little bit earlier at 15:00.
The route taken by the Springboks in the Rugby Championship
The Springboks lost their opening match of their campaign in a at home game at Ellis Park against Australia. The Wallabies won their first ever match at the Ellis Park against the Boks. Australia won the match with 38 to 22.
Cape Town played host for the second match between the two countries the following Saturday. The Springboks bounced back winning the match 30-22.
The Springboks then toured New Zealand and returned home last week after a semi successful tour. The first game in New Zealand was at Eden Park. The match sent shivers down the backs of Bok supporters when the All Blacks beat the Springboks 24-17, even though only seven points separated the two teams.
Rassie pulled a rabbit from his hat for the second match in New Zealand. He chose a younger team with less experience to face the All Blacks. The team did not disappoint on the field at Wellington Stadium where they made history by beating the All Blacks with the most points in a match.
Pumas’ path in the Rugby Championship
The Pumas are no longer considered underdogs in the world of rugby after their performance this season. The Argentineans hosted New Zealand for two matches in the first round. The All Blacks won the first match 41-24 but lost their second match at Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes with 29-23.
This sent the Pumas into the second round on par with the other teams. Argentina went on to play the Wallabies in Australia in the second round matches. They lost their first match with four points 28-24 and managed to get a win in their last match against the Wallabies. The final score 28-26 for Argentina.
Argentina is currently at the bottom of the log with a 9 points on the log and a win with a bonus point in upcoming match on Saturday will not be enough for them to win the Championship.
The All Blacks beat the Aussies in their first match of the tournament on Saturday at Eden Park, the score at the end of the match was 33-24.
The two teams will play their last match at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Saturday with the match kicking off at 11:45. Rugby fans can be assured of thrilling rugby this weekend, no matter what the results may bring.
