Posted mere hours before by South Korean website, m.post.naver.com, the silver and black painted Elantras, known in that market as the Avante, do without the previous model’s orange indictor lamps, suggesting these to be ones that will go on sale in South Korea, Australia and possibly South Africa.
In the images, the Elantra is pictured along with the Le Phillus concept car and the China market only Lafesta sedan, but retains the exterior similarities of the models previously pictured, such as the Cascading grille, triangular shaped fog lights, wider headlights, slimmer, wraparound LED taillights and the new bootlid.
According to the leaks, only one engine for the Korean market Avante has been mentioned, a 1.6-litre normally aspirated petrol called SmartStream that develops 95kW/149Nm, mated to a SmartStream CVT. For export markets though, expect the Elantra to come powered by a normally aspirated 2.0-litre petrol, a 1.4 or 1.6-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol and possibly a 1.6-litre CRDI turbodiesel.
